Customizing Scrapbook Banners
Detailed instructions on how to place your own picture on the digital scrapbook banners are written below. Please read them carefully. Any question in the tagboard or email that is answered in this page or in the FAQs will automatically be deleted.
Using Adobe Photoshop
  1. Launch the program and open the file, banner.png. You can open a file by hitting CTRL+O or simply go to the file menu and select Open.

  2. Open your desired picture and copy the image and paste it over banner.png. To do this, press CTRL+A (to select all of the image) and CTRL+C (to copy the image) on the desired picture, then hit CTRL+V (to paste the image) on the banner.png.

  3. You'd notice that your desired image is pasted right over the banner picture. What we want is to move it at the back. On your layer palette, drag Layer 1 below Layer 0.

  4. While on Layer 1, choose the pointer from the toolbox and drag your image so that it would show in the transparent area.

  5. In case you find your image too big or want to rotate it a little, just hit CTRL+T. Drag around as you would in Microsoft Word or Powerpoint.

  6. When you are satisfied with your image, it's time to save your new banner. Go to the File menu, and click on Save for Web. Choose PNG-8 to optimize file size. Name your new file banner.png.

  7. Now it's time to upload it to your multiply page. Once your new banner.png has been uploaded, grab the link to the picture. For large images, multiply first gives you a preview of it. This is not what we want; we would want to use the higher resolution version. Click on the link beside it (see red arrow).

  8. Multiply will transport you to another page where you could finally see your new banner in it's original size. Right-click on the image and select properties.

For Firefox users: Copy the link address beside "Location:" The link starts with http://
For IE users: Copy the link address beside "Address: (URL)".

  9. Within the CSS code, find REPLACE-THIS.png and replace it with the copied URL.

  10. Go to the Custom CSS page (http://multiply.com/setup/pages/upload-css) and paste the revised CSS code. Hit save!
